Big news for us! It took awhile to unfold yet we are thrilled with the fresh news: BLACK MOSES RISING: Making of the Harriet Tubman Monument in Newark and LIBERATION: Poetry Films Inspired by Harriet Tubman have each earned Emmy® Award nominations in the 2025 News & Documentary section of the renown awards program.
Black Moses Rising is nominated in the “Historical/Cultural – Long Form Content” category in the NY Region. It was produced and directed by Igor Alves.
Yuri Alves, director of Liberation, is personally nominated in the “Director – Short Form Content” craft category.
The Emmy Award nominations are the fifth and sixth, respectively, for DreamPlay Media, which also won two Emmy Awards in 2022 for EMERGE and GRIND.
The 68th Annual NY Emmy® Awards will be presented at the New York Marriott Marquis on October 11, 2025. We know Newark and “Team Tubman” will be in our corner that night: wish us luck!!
