HORIZON BCBSNJ :: Life with Benefits

Horizon BCBSNJ | Life with Benefits (LWB) is a Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey member engagement program that promotes healthy behaviors, via education, community-based outreach, and positive brand experiences.

We partnered with Horizon to pilot a member engagement, retention and wellness program, particularly for individuals. Through deep research and conversations with the client, members and community representatives we created a strategic plan that included an implementation roadmap, a brand identity system and an internal video. The Life With Benefits sub-brand emphasizes connection, community, and togetherness, visually represented via the bold use of flowing parallel and interlocking lines. Combined with serif type, the logo borrows nostalgic cues from retro/vintage diners, symbolizing familiarity, approachability and of course, New Jersey. The brand is made modern via its vivid colors, which marry the Horizon “blue” with a warm and lively orange.
