On November 29, 2023, The Harriet Tubman Monument Project and The City of Newark, NJ, will present the Film Premiere of “BLACK MOSES RISING: Making of the Harriet Tubman Monument in Newark” and “LIBERATION: Poetry Films Inspired by Harriet Tubman“, at The Newark Museum of Art – Billy Johnson Auditorium.
Doors open at 5:30pm for guided tours of the “Seeing America” historical art exhibition at The Newark Museum of Art, and an hors d’oeuvres and beverages reception. The screenings will begin at 7:00pm, followed by a panel conversation featuring the Honorable Mayor Ras J. Baraka, artist/architect Nina Cooke John, Aisha Browne Glover, VP, Urban Innovation at Audible, producer Igor Alves, and moderated by fayemi shakur, Director of Arts and Cultural Affairs at The City of Newark, NJ.
